As the exclusive purveyor of the original works of William a Bartsch, all of his pieces have now been consolidated at Bertolini & Co and there are some stunning examples in every category. If you are a Bill Bartsch collector or fan, please check out the “new” pieces in person at the Shop since they are breathtaking in person. There are incredible new large landscape oils, still life oil paintings and oil portraits of people, dogs and horses. There is a large selection of ink wash work, and some beautiful watercolors. About William Bartsch:
Mr. Bartsch was educated and received his training at the Minneapolis School of Art, Antioch College and the University of Minnesota where he received a Master of Fine Arts degree. He has held various museum and teaching positions, Professor Emeritus, Department of Studio Art, State University at New Paltz.
He has exhibited widely and his works are in many private collections in New York, the Hudson Valley, the midwest and England as well as in the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. In addition to paintings, water colors, prints and drawings, he has also devoted time and energy to faux painting such as the mahogany graining in the foyer of the Old School Baptist Meeting House in Warwick, NY.
Mr. Bartsch lives in Warwick and continues to paint and draw at age 83. His works which hang in every room of the Bertolini & Co. Shop include landscape paintings of the Hudson VAlley, Southern France, Italy and Great Britain. Still Lifes of antique objects of pewter and delftware combine with flowers and fruits in lush but structured compositions.
