The contemporary furniture for this room was made in Bangkok, copying Regency chairs. The pair of consoles are Chinese lemon wood alter tables. Three of a series of twelve, rare Chinese scrolls of the Yao period, were framed in red lacquer. Red is the dominate color throughout the entire room. Rare saddles, temple urns and scholars tables are all in red lacquer. The cushions are antique batik found one at a time. in the local markets on a Sunday. They were originally sarongs…worn by men. Blue and white porcelain accessories dress the room.
